Report: Soldier killed herself in Afghanistan
The Associated Press
Army commanders at Fort Knox failed to pass along information about the medical and psychological status of a soldier who went on to kill herself in Afghanistan, despite knowing that she had been hospitalized for expressing an urge to hurt herself – and had weaned herself from anti-anxiety medication to qualify for deployment.
The Daily News (Longview, WA) used FOIA to obtain the investigative report (http://tdn.com/news/local/fell-through-the-cracks-could-longview-soldier-s-death-have/article_ad538058-15aa-11e2-a0a0-001a4bcf887a.html).
