Crime Scene: FBI investigated James von Brunn after 1963 incident
James von Brunn, who died after starting a deadly gunfight at the Holocaust Museum in 2009, came to the attention of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) decades earlier, when a business dispute led to an allegation that von Brunn threatened to kill a North Carolina man in 1963.
The AP used FOIA to obtain the records from the FBI.
